Answer - a) Do not duck the club!
Only do a hold up play when they have led the suit you are afraid of. Here if you duck the club the opponents may switch to the suit that you are really afraid of, which is hearts. Once you have won the first club play on diamonds. With 3 opposite 6 it doesnt matter too much which way you play the suit, but as a matter of good technique the winner in the short hand is normally right.
